The Story of Get Saun – by Alan

It all started in Los Caños de Meca, Spain. If you know the place, you know the surf’s good and the sunsets are better. I was living the dream – surfing in the evenings, catching waves, and just soaking up that slow, salty life.

But as a Swede, something was missing… the heat. Not just the sun, but real heat. Sauna heat.

At the time, I’d been reading up on all the new research around heat shock proteins and how regular sauna use could boost recovery, immunity, and just make you feel like a Viking after battle. I thought, Why not bring that post-surf sauna bliss right to the beach? Could it be done?

So, I started experimenting.

The first prototype? Honestly, it was a disaster – a Frankenstein mashup of plywood, duct tape, old car windshields, and a borrowed pizza oven. It kind of worked… if you ignored the smoke, the weird smells, and the neighborhood cats who kept sneaking in. But it proved the idea wasn’t totally insane.

From there, I dove into the world of materials. I tested everything – cotton, plastic, you name it. Most of it turned moldy, melted, or fell apart after two uses. I threw away more fabric than I care to admit. But eventually, I found the good stuff: Oxford 300D, insulated linings, durable stitching – materials that could handle real heat and real life.

But Get Saun is more than just a portable sauna. It’s about those magic moments – the kind where you’re by a lake with your friends, there’s wood to carry, a fire to light, and something to build together. You know what I mean – us guys don’t usually go deep over coffee. But give us a little project, something to do with our hands, and suddenly the conversations get real. That’s the therapy.

So why the name? We had this WhatsApp group where someone wrote, “We need to get some…” and someone else said “saun.” It stuck. It sounded like something you need, and something you want. So here we are.

Get Saun.

Let’s make the time. Let’s get the heat.
